Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is a 7-inch tablet screen and has a dual-core processor at 1.2GHz, intended to replace the old model of Galaxy Tab.
Although its dual-core processor is recommended as an ideal candidate for Android Honeycomb, in the design we find the same navigation buttons as the previous model, suitable for Android Gingerbread and not Honeycomb, the version adapted for the tablets of the operating system.
If the operating system is indeed Android 2.3, then the Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet can be interpreted as an oversized version of the smartphone model Galaxy II, based on a similar hardware platform but adapted a tablet format including a high screen resolution.
Unfortunately the difficulties encountered by Samsung at the production of the AMOLED screen types are unlikely to introduce new tablet equipped with such displays.
Such a tablet, though undoubtedly superior to its predecessor, will be put into a lower class of products, where they cannot compete more advanced models based on Android Honeycomb or Ice Cream Sandwich.
We can only hope that the price asked by Samsung for the Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet will significantly lower than that of the Android Honeycomb, Galaxy Tab 8.9.
Galaxy Tab 7.7 could be officially presented after 1 September at IFA 2011 CES.
