3D laptops are slowly and steadily becoming the “in” thing in latest 3D gadgets, be it for watching movies or playing great games. This trend has given rise to many electronics manufacturers coming out with 3D laptops with various different features. Toshiba has quite an impressive line-up of 3D laptops. The other most important brands include Sony, HP, Asus and Lenovo. In this post, we do a performance comparison between Toshiba 3D laptops vs. the other main contenders.
Price and Availability of the Toshiba Qosmio 3D Laptop
Toshiba 3D Laptops
Toshiba has come out with a huge line of 3D laptops, which are all great performance-wise. The Toshiba Qosmio line of laptops is glass-free, where you do not have to have special glasses to view its 3D content. In fact, the Qosmio F755 is promoted as the world’s first glass-free 3D laptop.
The entire line of Toshiba 3D laptops is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor and many of them have dual-core processors. This makes the device tremendous powerful and fast. Additionally, all models include the NVIDIA GeForce graphics card, with a minimum of 1GB memory and more than sufficient HDD and RM. Most of the Toshiba models also come with a long battery life, the maximum lasting up to 7 hours. This makes for great movie viewing and game playing for enthusiasts.
Hence, performance-wise, Toshiba 3D laptops are second to none in the field.
Sony F Series
Sony is a well-established name in the field of electronics. Their new F Series 3D laptops are absolutely high-end and a joy to use. Capable of converting HD video into 3D, this line of laptops is powered by a 2.30 GHz Intel Core i7 quad-core processor and is also supported by the Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 for better performance and speed.
This brand also includes the NVIDIA GeForce graphics card and an HD webcam. The HDMI 3D output enables you to view 2D or 3D content on a compatible HDTV.
Though very powerful, stylish and high-end, the one problem with this line of 3D laptops is its battery power, which last only up to 3 hours. This is not quite up to the mark as compared with Toshiba.
HP Envy 17 3D
The HP Envy 17 3D is ideally suited for serious 3D gaming, also for video editing. It comes with a second-generation Intel Core i7 quad-core processor with Turbo Boost. Hence, it is amazing performance and speed-wise.
Other features of the HP Envy 17 3D include 6GB RAM and 750GB hard drive, TrueVision HD webcam, 1GB Radeon HD graphics card and WLAN.
Though it poses serious competition to Toshiba, the HP Envy 17 3D has one negative side – only up to 2.25 hours of battery backup. Otherwise, this laptop is certainly one powerhouse to look out for.
Asus G51Jx3D
The Asus G51Jx3D laptop, which has won the honor of the best 3D laptop, is great for 3D gaming and movie entertainment. Powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost, it also comes with 4GB pre-installed RAM and a 320GB hard drive, which can be upgraded up to 640GB.
Other features include an NVIDIA GeForce graphics card and 1GB of video RAM, alos 2MP webcam for making video calls. The Asus G51Jx3D additionally includes the latest ever gaming features, which make 3D gaming an experience to remember.
The negative point as compared to Toshiba, though, is that you will need extra 3D glasses to clearly view 3D content on this laptop.
Lenovo IdeaPad Y560d
The first 3D notebook from Lenovo, this 3D laptop comes with an Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost, 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon graphics card, 500GB hard disk with 6GB RAM.
Great for 3D gaming and movie watching, it also includes WiFi, Bluetooth and HDMI port. Offering up to 5 hours of battery power as well, it is believed that this laptop will come to the top of the line very soon.
In short, the Lenovo IdeaPad Y560d poses the most serious challenge to Toshiba, in every possible way.
